The Chart Configuration dialog
In order to see charts in Mariner, you will need to specify where they are. This is called
"Importing" the charts. On the left side of the dialog is the set of directories and files
currently available on this computer. On the right side is the list of charts already
imported and available to Mariner.
To import a chart, mark the charts on the left side and click the "Import" button.
- There is a special provision for KAP format charts which are distributed in directory structures
named BSB_ROOT. It is not necessary to import individual files. Simply highlight the BSB_ROOT
directory and press Import. This will import all charts in the structure.
- NavGator Chart Packs come with a pre-configured chart database. To import all the charts in a Chart Pack
simply highlight the database file and press Import. Mariner chart database files have an extension of .mcd
and are usually named ChartDB.mcd. For a ChartPack that has been installed the Chart database will be in the
top level installation directory.
Hint: To import multiple charts, hold down the Control key as you select the chart names.
To import a range of charts, select the first chart and the last chart in the list while holding
down the Shift key.
When you select a chart it's descriptive name will be shown at the bottom of the dialog window.
If you would like to see additional information on the chart press "More info".
To remove a chart and make it unavailable to Mariner, select it from the "Available charts" and
press "Remove". Note that this does not delete the chart file, it only makes it not available to
Mariner.
When you are done just press Done or close the dialog window. This will automatically save the
chart configuration.
