Instrument: Current position
The Current position instrument shows the following data, all derived from the GPS feed:
- GPS date and time
- Current latitude and longitude
- Speed over land (measured by GPS, which is frequently different from speed over water as
measured by the boat's speedometer)
- True course
- Magnetic deviation
Clicking the right mouse button will show the options for this instrument:
- Display units allows you to choose which units to use to display speed information
(nautical miles, statutory miles, kilometers, etc.). This will be normally set to the
global default as set in the Tools menu but may be
set individually for each instrument.
- Close will discard the instrument
